CCWD Customer,

Over the past week CCWD staff has been working to resolve the recent color issue in your drinking water. CCWD recently changed raw water sources.  Staff believes this source change caused an unexpected discoloration in the water after treatment.  CCWD staff is actively working closely with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) staff who manage these source waters.

Early last week staff made appropriate changes to the treatment plant processes and are confident the discoloration issue is resolved.  However, since there is discolored water in the distribution system it will take some time for this to clear. Your drinking water meets and/or exceeds all current drinking water standards and is safe to use (cooking, drinking, cleaning, bathing, etc.).

We appreciate your patience and understanding.  Thank you.

OUR MISSION is to develop and provide our customers with high quality water and service at the lowest possible price, in accordance with the following values:

  • Reliability and sustainability of system facilities
  • Timeliness of District policies, procedures, actions and decisions
  • 50-year outlook when replacing infrastructure
  • Legality of all District actions and behaviors
  • Culture of openness, fairness and inclusiveness

Coastside County Water District is proud of the safe, high level of quality drinking water and service we provide to our customers located in the City of Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated coastal communities of El Granada, Miramar and Princeton-By-The-Sea, located in San Mateo County.
